Description

Epitalon, also known as Epithalon, is a synthetic tetrapeptide composed of four amino acids: Alanine–Glutamic acid–Aspartic acid–Glycine (Ala–Glu–Asp–Gly). It is a laboratory-produced analog of a naturally occurring peptide called Epithalamin, which is associated with the pineal gland.

In scientific research, Epitalon has been studied for its potential interaction with cellular processes involved in biological aging, circadian rhythm regulation, and cellular signaling pathways. Laboratory studies have explored its possible influence on telomerase activity, an enzyme associated with the maintenance of telomeres, which are protective structures located at the ends of chromosomes.

Additional research has examined the peptide’s potential role in cellular repair mechanisms, oxidative stress response, and gene expression related to cellular longevity. Because of these characteristics, Epitalon has attracted scientific interest in research areas related to aging biology, molecular genetics, and cellular regulation.

Ongoing investigations continue to analyze how Epitalon interacts with cellular pathways that regulate biological processes such as circadian rhythm and cellular lifespan.
